Buxby is a Ganymedean cook with an extra arm who runs a food cart in Titan Garden's A-District, a densely-built area filled with narrow alleys and neon signs. Buxby's food cart sits on a street corner near the entrance to the Dockyards, and as such it's become a popular spot for workers coming into and out of the docks looking to grab a snack before starting their shift or pick something up as a little treat for a hard day's work. Buxby has a very quiet, reserved personality; they set up their cart, they cook food and they feed people who come by. Usually it's the smell of their cooking that does the talking for them. They'll keep to themselves and focus on cooking but you can gauge how much Buxby recognizes you as a regular if you start to find a little extra helping in your tray.

Many people are surprised to learn that Ganymedean cuisine is heavily meat-based, but it sometimes makes more sense the more they think about it. Ganymedean people have two main ways of obtaining nutrients: they can either photosynthesize sunlight with their long, flat leaves, or they coil their roots around organic matter to digest and absorb it using the coarse hairs that grow with their roots. Because they tend to coil something up and absorb it, Ganymedean food is prepared in hand-sized morsels that ends up making fantastic finger food for the taller species of the Sol system. Rich and crispy, grilled or fried, Buxby's homestyle Ganymedean is a big hit with just about everyone who passes by.

The way Buxby has their food cart set up is, it's a normal looking Terran-scale food cart, but behind it they have a big crate of compacted dirt they stand on. One of the adaptations Ganymedeans have is they're able to quickly grow prehensile roots out of their bodies, long coarse tendrils they can manipulate freely and then simply detach when they're no longer needed, letting them fall off like tree branches. This was originally meant as a way to find water reserves underground on Ganymede, evolved into being a way to extract nutrients from organic life on the surface and eventually became a useful way to manipulate large tools created by other species. Buxby likes to sink their toes into their dirt block and let their roots sprout up around them and use them to help prepare their food, improving efficiency and working at non-Ganymedean scale while also putting on a little bit of a show.

Buxby likes to stay out of trouble, which is plentiful in Titan Garden. As their food cart is a popular spot for dockworkers and roughnecks, they overhear all kinds of rumors and gossip from people waiting to collect their food order, but they prefer to keep their head down and just do what they love to do, cook delicious little food treats. If you can get Buxby to warm up to you they might share a secret or two with you about Titan Garden, how its built or the things that go on there. More than likely, though, the only thing you'll get out of Buxby is a grease-darkened paper tray full of piping hot, delicious food. Lucky you!
