Sporting purple mitts, Viktor Quick is SABLE's own little so-and-so, an antagonistic Mercurian boxer who the crowd either loves or hates, with very little in-between. Viktor is actually a pretty nice guy off-camera, but he loves to play up his "you wouldn't hit a little guy with glasses" shtick, despite his not wearing glasses, and while his needling behavior is meant for his opponents, it's also a bit of a show for the audience. Being a heel and being one of the smaller fighters in the league makes an odd mix of an underdog who you kinda don't want to see win, but that's part of Viktor Quick's charm, and a big reason why his fans love to watch him fight. You kinda wanna see someone knock his lights out, but also, you kinda wanna see him pull one over on the big guys. Even when he's getting his ass kicked, Viktor always looks like he's having fun.

Viktor Quick is an extremely technical boxer fighting in a league without weight classes. A nimble fighter, Viktor will dance outside his opponent's range and carefully pick his shots, landing very fast and very precise punches and getting back out before he takes a counterhit himself. His goading and his antagonism serve to try and open up his opponent's defenses or bait them into overextensions; he often finds himself at a size disadvantage so he thrives by winning on points, landing a high volume of successful swings and taking as few as he can. It's not uncommon for a Viktor win to come by judges' decision after the 10th round, although there's a real chance for him to get knocked out before the final bell rings that keeps a long match zesty. Him doing his bullshit helps keep these longer, more technical matches engaging, and despite his short stature and lighter weight it is possible for Viktor Quick to land a knockout blow on even the heaviest boxer in the SABLE stable, thanks in part to his Mercurian talents.

So, you see a Mercurian boxer in a league full of cheaters and you think, well, what's this guy up to? I'll tell you right now: Viktor Quick's Mercurian Gift of Sol is the purview of Status. He can see and innately comprehend the entropic condition of physical things; their wear, their strain, their point on the line between pristine and perilous breakdown. He likes to tell people he can "see healthbars", but the way his Gift actually works is more like he can see the damage in different regions of someone or something as an overlaying colors, where the intensity of the color communicates degree of wear and the hue of those colors implies the nature of damage inflicted. He can see when a boxer is getting tired, he can see which muscle groups are sore, he can see when a boxer's metabolism is spiking or when their glove is coated in paralytic venom, and so on- he sees the Status of these aspects of other fighters. Being a very technical boxer means he can target weak points on his opponents to make his shots more meaningful, allowing him to punch well above his weight, and when his opponent's status is worn down and vulnerable he can see when he's able to go for the Ice Cap Upper, a finishing uppercut able to knock even the largest of boxers onto the mat. A small axe can fell a big tree, and Viktor's Gifts are the edge that let him do just that. His Gift is particularly dangerous when he's boxing in no-rules exhibitions, where he's able to activate his Firewalker Form and actually inflict status ailments with his punches, but SABLE forbids the use of these install forms in the interest of fairness and sportsmanship, so Viktor is content to just cheat as a constant low-level background radiation behind his precise and technical boxing style.

Among our beloved salvage companies, Bell and Viola always mark for Viktor Quick. Bell is really into the little boxer's tomfoolery, the infuriating little performance meant to get the other fighter good and tilted. The show out of Viktor is fun, but also seeing usually cool-headed boxers lose their composure is entertaining, and Bell has a great time watching a match devolve into a rodeo show. Viola, on the other hand, originally settled on Viktor as her boxer of choice for his purple-colored aesthetic, but over time she's come to really enjoy watching a little guy battle the odds and take his fight to titans who overshadow him in size and stature. It's a bit conceited but Viola sees a little of herself in Viktor Quick, having her own history of infiltrating high-society functions which otherwise wouldn't have her, so when a fight is on and Violet Viktor is up Viola with cheer and shout uncharacteristically loud for the underdog heel to win. If you're betting on Viktor Quick, you'll either want to bet on a Knockout in the 6th or a win by decision. He can close it out in the mid rounds if he finds his Ice Cap Upper but if his opponent doesn't give it to him you're in it for the long haul, so make your decision, put up your credits and sit back and enjoy the show.
